People call me C, ummm been alive for about 18 years now. Stuff I blog about: anime, manga, reblog other peoples art, uh some other random sh*t. :D yaaaaa~
don’t you hate it when you’re reading a chapter and then it’s coming to its climax and omg what’s gonna happen, then woops, your eyes dart to the last line and you spoil yourself and hate yourself for it
I was wondering what steps did you take in order to get into the lane of character design? Do have any tips for someone trying to get on that path? Love your work btw!
Thanks Angie! When I realized that I wanted to pursue character design I had already graduated from college with a BFA in Toy Design. I was a complete stranger to the animation industry so i looked at other artists who were character designers, looked at interview blogs, looked at the art of books.. I looked for local classes I could take (there was just one! but it was great) I kept working on my drawings till I could get them up to par (or so i thought) with the other character designers in the industry.
Knowing what you want to do is a great first step, now you just have to put in all the work!! the great thing about today is everyone posts online so you can see what *industry work looks like. Now find your own voice and work on fundamentals and all that good stuff! enjoy :)
